Summer of Shows

We will be attending with a variety of wooden craft and garden items, manufactured at the Wood Store, as well as refurbished and reconditioned tools of all types.

Orders can be taken for bespoke items, and collection or local delivery arranged

Official Opening of our new recycling premises

Friday 9th July 12 – 4pm

The Official Opening of our new social enterprise in the Old Remloy factory, Glanrhyd, Ystradgynlais will take place throughout the afternoon of Friday 9th July.

Presentations, activities and stalls include the presence of the Deputy Minister for Housing and Regeneration in the Welsh Assembly; the official launch of Ystradgynlais Info; demonstrations by a chainsaw carver, a woodcarver, and a woodturner; and the chance to carry out your own Carbon Footprint check.

Recycling-based activities for children will be available,a nd there will be a limited number of free compost bins for visitors to take away. In addition, the usual Woodstore and Toolstore sales points for wooden craft items, refurbished tools, and reused furniture will be available for sale.

Everybody is welcome – just come along when you can, and enjoy the day!

Quiz and Official Opening

Sunday 27th June – at The Ynyscedwyn Arms, the Ystradgynlais Volunteer Centre will be hosting a fun fundraising quiz. Arrive at 7 for a 7:30 start, and bring your own team – £1 a person. Prizes and Raffle !!!

Friday 9th July – OFFICIAL OPENING of the Remploy premises. 12:30 start, for afternoon of fun, activities, talks, and stalls.

The Official Opening of the ex-Remploy site will take place on Friday 9th July, in the afternoon.

At Ystradgynlais Welfare Hall, from 10 am, we are running a REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE day.

Fantastic Free Event! Promoting ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ at Ystradgynlais Welfare Hall, 10 am 4 pm.

Talks, information, and children’s Arts and Crafts throughout the day.

Swap Shop – bring your items on the day, usual restrictions apply (eg no medicines, underwear etc).

Open Day for Locals – Saturday 5th June

On Saturday 12th June 10am til 4m, AYE is having an open day at the Remloy building for all locals and interested parties to come and have a look around.

The Wood Store has been operating successfully there for some weeks now, and the Tool Store is now moving down to set up operations.

Locals and anyone else interested can come and see what we do, how we do it, what we make, how we make it – and anything else that interests them!
